Local Indigenous Art Recognition Project – Albury-Wodonga
This project seeks to enhance the physical environment of the Albury-Wodonga campus by commissioning a local Aboriginal artist to produce a piece to be permanently displayed within the campus grounds.
Our Albury-Wodonga campus will be seeking expressions of interest from local Indigenous artists to produce a piece of work that speaks to Wodonga.
The name Wodonga (Woddhaga) means the place of bulrushes in the local Indigenous language, and reflects the importance of the local environment. It is this environment that the Albury-Wodonga campus is connected to, with bulrushes featuring in the on campus lake, and in the logo of the Albury-Wodonga Indigenous Student Services Unit, Woddha Gki-Lya.
