Fifty Years of Film

Fifty Years of Film

La Trobe University began Australia’s first university courses on film and television production and cinema studies after former academic Patricia Edgar set up the Centre for the Study of Media and Communication.

As part of our 50th Anniversary celebrations, the La Trobe Student Union will host a free film festival showing a classic Australian film representing each decade of La Trobe University’s existence.

This six week festival will aim to connect new and current La Trobe students to their University community and the proud history of La Trobe through the acclaimed medium of Australian film.
