About the Art History Chapter
The Art History Chapter is one of the largest of the La Trobe University Alumni Chapters.
The sixty-seven members of the alumni chapter represent decades of lived experience here at La Trobe University, stretching back to the inception of the Art History program in 1972.
The chapter maintains a strong relationship with the La Trobe Art Institute and the Trendall Centre. The committee meets six times per year and organises regular events for members, including the prestigious Rae Alexander Lecture, now in the 19th year.
In 2016, the committee has been pleased to present a prize for most outstanding student in the yearly Summer School program held at the NGV – the $500 AHA LTU/NGV Summer School prize – and has been working to establish a yearly acquisitive prize – the $1,000 AHA LTU Visual Arts Acquisitive Prize – as a demonstration of support for the arts at La Trobe University.
