Alicia Emerson-Webber

It took me nearly 10 years after completing year 12 to decide to go to university. It was a big and seemingly scary step, and daunting for me as a mature aged student. But I can confidently say it has been the best decision I have made in my adult life so far. My time at La Trobe has been challenging but so rewarding.

When I first started I didn’t think I would get involved in the ‘social’ aspect of uni, but, after my first year, I found myself being drawn to the opportunity to run activities and events for students. I just love engaging students and seeing them create connections on campus.

I have met so many people and developed an amazing bond with like-minded people. Such an amazing opportunity to study at university right here in my home town!

My dream is to see more country kids engage in study on a regional campus and reap the rewards.
